Consumer Account Support
Position Summary:
You will have the responsibility to support the Account Manager with the development of new and existing categories of non-mobile products to support our customer’s category strategy. Responsible for supporting with sourcing new products and categories. Managing the portfolio and vendor relationships will be a key part to this role. As part of a team, you will drive new products for retail, online and across all our customer’s channels. Developing a seasonal agenda through a range that complements and aligns with our customer’s strategy.
Key duties & responsibilities:
The Consumer Account Support will help with the development and implementation of best practice frameworks and guidelines for buying process to support new product ranges. Champion a culture of collaboration and understanding of Technology categories & brands to the internal and external customer teams.
• Report on the performance of sales to include new products and ranges monthly and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support with the development of new and current product categories in line with our customers strategy by utilising market insights and trends.
• Work with our category managers to help source products that reflect our customers opportunities via our key multiple vendors.
• Analyse data and insights on performance to maximise the strategy.
• Support development of long-term and short-term product lifecycles.
• Liaise with the customer Go To Market team for key seasonal events and support with products.
• Work closely with the internal and customer’s Supply Chain and Logistics Teams on product inventory aiming to minimize inventory carrying costs, by managing inventory turnover and identifying slow-moving items.
• Support to develop exit strategies for products that align with margin ambition.
• Liaise with internal functions to ensure the supply journey is on track and all relevant teams are engaged (e.g. finance/procurement etc). Support setting up of new vendors and working with our existing vendors to ensure strong commercials and supply for new and existing products.
• Attend and support presentation of ranges at key events as required
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
• 2- 3 years’ previous experience working as a category support or working in Technology/Mobile industry.
• In-depth knowledge of sourcing and buying products across multiple areas.
• Excellent commercial acumen and negotiations skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Analytical and critical thinker.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills (competent user of Microsoft Suite).
• Expertise in mobile/technology category management.
• Project management skills.
• E-commerce and/or Retail or Telecoms background.
